About us:
Association came into existence in 2002 as an offshoot of an older Association and is dedicated to:

• Preserve and promote the socio-cultural tradition of Santal.

• Promote Santali Language in OL-CHIKI script.

• Disseminate the awareness of cultural heritage of Santal and publication of newsletter/journal/magazine in ‘OL-CHIKI’ script.

• Organize sports, socio-cultural activities.

• Build up unity and harmony among the members.

The association’s present annual activities include: (i) Celebration of “Guru Kunami” on the occasion of birth anniversary of Pt. Raghunath Murmu, (ii) Observation of “Sidu Kanhu Hul Maha”to commemorate the Santal insurrection of 1855 and (iii) Annual Get-together.

The Association has since been registered in June, 2007 under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 and its Rules and Regulations conform to the said Act.

The membership is open to person committed to aims and objectives of the Association and willing to abide by its rules and regulations, among other things.  

This being a voluntary organization, its day to day affairs are dealt with on mutual trust and cooperation, like any other such organizations. Also, being in its formative stage, the Association emphasizes more on group solidarity and also expects much needed constructive support from its members and well-wishers.
